How selfish we've become
taking everything for granted
cemented inside situations we have
we'll stay forever because they are comfortable

we don't know how to fight with each other anymore
we're always hoping for the termination
of a weakness that has grown

clenched tightly in fists
pressed against out sides
where promises are kept
as knuckles clench white
yet as we pass we exchange smiles
and when we kiss it feels worthwhile

a wind knocked so deep out of me
that i could barely hold a compass
a darkness has crept over you
i have lost my way back to your mouth
something about me turns love to dust
we lay apart trapped in spider webs
unconscious of the last time we touched
we know nothing of timelines

nothing you can say will change anything
there are no words that can penetrate deep enough
i am being spun tightly in silk
